This is just one of the many thoughts on my mind this morning. It’s also a Wednesday’s Bloom day, and I don’t yet know what I am writing about for that. I wanted to spend a little time with the memoir process before working on Wednesday’s Bloom and felt like there was something right on the tip of my tongue. I was scribbling bits and pieces of sentences trying to get to what exactly I was feeling. When I wrote down the word fiction, this realization opened up. I had suspected it for a while, especially when I felt blockages in the embodied character process. I will still come back to all those stories, but when I do it won’t be because I have something to hide.
I am writing a memoir about the journeys of being and becoming a mother. I am sharing some parts of the discovery process in Notes on a Memoir. Every week, I also write about something learned as a mother in Wednesday’s Bloom: Textual Portraits of a New Mommy. Explore other works connected to my mothering in the Motherhood collection.
